Lamentations

Lamentations, book of the Old Testament, traditionally ascribed to the prophet Jeremiah, though this is disputed by modern scholars. It consists of a series of 5 poems (the first 4 are acrostics) lamenting the fall of Jerusalem at the hands of the Babylonians (586 B.C.).
