Lacrosse

Lacrosse, team game derived by French settlers from the Native American game of baggataway, now the national game of Canada. It is played with a stick called a crosse having a net at one end. The crosse is used to catch, throw, and carry a hard rubber ball, with the aim of sending it into the opposing goal. In men's lacrosse, played in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, each team has 10 members. Women's lacrosse is usually played with 12 to a side.
