Richard Kuhn



Kuhn, Richard (1900–67), Austrian chemist. He was awarded the 1938 Nobel Prize for chemistry, but the Nazi government prevented him from accepting the award until after World War II. Noted for his research into vitamins and carotenoids (yellow to red coloring found in plants and animals), he isolated vitamins B2 (riboflavin) and B6.
