Gene Krupa



Krupa, Gene (1909–73), U.S. jazz musician, member of the Benny Goodman Orchestra (1935–38). The first famous drum soloist, Krupa was known for his frenzied performing style and exceptional drum technique. From 1938 to 1951 he played with his own successful band and continued to perform and tour with a quartet throughout the 1950s and 60s.
