Ted Koppel



Koppel, Ted (Edward James Koppel; 1940– ), U.S. news reporter, host of the popular T.V. news program Nightline. A Vietnam war correspondent, Koppel was made chief diplomatic correspondent for ABC News in 1971. He became famous for his coverage of the Iran hostage crisis in 1979 and has won many journalistic awards.
