Lincoln Kirstein



Kirstein, Lincoln (1907–96), U.S. ballet promoter who persuaded George Balanchine to come to the United States and helped him organize the School of American Ballet in New York (1934) and the New York City Ballet (1948). Kirstein also wrote several books on ballet.
