Kindergarten



Kindergarten, school for children aged 4–6, conceived by German educator F.W.A. Froebel in 1837. The school aims to develop a child's self-expression and sociability through games, play, and creative activities. One of the first American kindergartens was opened in 1860 by E. Peabody.
