Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement, U.S. organization aimed at teaching students about the nation's business system. Founded in 1919, Junior Achievement has about 785,000 student members from the fifth through the 12th grades. They learn how to set up corporations, buy and sell stock, keep records, and handle payrolls. Programs are sponsored by local businesses and industries, and volunteers from those businesses often serve as advisers and teachers.
