Joint tenancy



Joint tenancy, ownership of real property by 2 or more persons, each having equal rights to its use during their lifetimes. To qualify, the partners must enter into possession at the same time and hold the title in common. If one tenant dies, the property falls in its entirety to the survivor(s).
