Jodrell Bank Observatory



Jodrell Bank Observatory, or Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories, English space tracking station and research facility, located near Manchester. Housing one of the world's largest radio telescopes, Jodrell Bank tracked Sputnik I, the first satellite ever launched. It also transmitted the first photographs from a Soviet probe on the moon in 1966.
