Sarah One Jewett



Jewett, Sarah One (1849–1909), U.S. author. She wrote about late 19th century life in her native New England, often using seaports and rural towns of Maine as settings. Her best-known works are Deephaven (1877), A Country Doctor (1884), and The Country of the Pointed Firs (1896). She also wrote poetry and children's stories.
