Joseph Jacobs



Jacobs, Joseph (1854–1916), English scholar and writer of children's fairy tales. His works include Aesop's Fables (1889), Celtic Fairy Tales (1891), and More Celtic Fairy Tales (1894), which include “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “The Three Little Pigs.” He was also secretary (1882–1900) of the Russo-Jewish Committee (London), formed to improve the condition of Jews in Russia.
