Indus River



Indus River, river rising in the Himalayas of western Tibet and flowing 1,800 mi (2,900 km) through Kashmir and Pakistan to its 75-mi-(121-km) long delta on the North Arabian Sea. Cradle of the ancient Indus Valley civilization, it is now a source of hydroelectric power and irrigation.
