Icecap



Icecap, extensive perennial cover of ice and snow, covering huge sections of the earth's polar regions. The Antarctic icecap has an area of 5 million sq mi (13 million sq km) and an average thickness of 7,000 ft (2,100 m). The majority of Greenland is covered by an icecap.
