Hydrogen bromide



Hydrogen bromide, chemical compound (HBr) that is a colorless, corrosive gas. If exposed to humid air it will fume; when combined with water it forms hydrobromic acid. The gas is used in various chemical reactions to make organic bromides and compounds, as a reducing agent, and as a catalyst.
