Huron

Huron, league of 4 Native North American tribes, approximately 20,000 strong, who lived in South Ontario in the 1600s. Members of the Iroquoian language group, they were an agrarian society who were attacked and nearly destroyed by the Iroquois (1650). Small numbers of Hurons remain in Quebec and in Oklahoma.
