River Humber



Humber, River, river in Humberside county, England, flowing eastward into the North Sea. The river's length is about 40 mi (64 km); its width is 1–7 mi (1.6–11 km). Two important tributaries are the Ouse and Trent rivers. The cities of Hull and Grimsby lie on the Humber's banks. The Humber Bridge has the longest main span (4,626 ft/1,410 m) of any suspension bridge in the world.
