Ted Hughes
Hughes, Ted (1930– ), English poet whose work is noted for its brutal, often violent animal imagery. Among his many collections are The Hawk in the Rain (1957), Lupercal (1960), Crow (1970), Selected Poems: 1957–1967 (1972), Moortown (1980), Wolfwatching (1989), and New Selected Poems (1995). He was married to the poet Sylvia Plath.
