Huang He

Huang He, or Huang Ho, river in north-central and eastern China. The Huang He rises in Amne Machin Shan, Qinghai Province, and flows through Inner Mongolia, emptying into the Yellow Sea. At 2,903 mi (4,673 km), it is China's second longest river, but it is unused by ships due to its alternately swift and shallow composition. Due to years of flooding, the river is also called “China's Sorrow.”
