Harry Lloyd Hopkins



Hopkins, Harry Lloyd (1890–1946), U.S. politician. He was administrator of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (1933), director of the Works Project Administration (1935), secretary of commerce (1938), and U.S. Lend Lease administrator (1941). As President Franklin D. Roosevelt's aide throughout World War II, he carried out important negotiations with Russia for both Roosevelt and President Harry S. Truman.
