Helen Sawyer Hogg
Hogg, Helen Sawyer (1905– ), U.S.-born Canadian astronomer noted for her Catalogue of Variable Stars in Globular Clusters (1939). Her work involved measurement of the period of variable stars, which helps to determine their distance from earth.
