Lambert Hitchcock



Hitchcock, Lambert (1795–1852), U.S. cabinetmaker who, in 1818, established a furniture factory at Barkhamsted, Conn. Hitchcock chairs, black with stenciled designs, combined simplicity with elegance. They are now collector's pieces.
