Herodotus



Herodotus (484?–425? B.C.), Greek historian, often called “the Father of History” for his writings about the causes of the Persian Wars fought between Greece and Persia (499–479 B.C.). Although his accuracy is often questioned, he was the first to treat human history in a narrative form. His work is characterized by warmth and a great diversity of information.
