Hephaestus



Hephaestus, or Hephaistos, Greek god of fire. Blacksmith to the gods and the patron of metalworkers, he was responsible for such works as Achilles' armor and Zeus's throne. A powerful god, he was also lame. His marriage to Aphrodite represented the union of Art and Beauty.
