Hell

Hell, in several religions, abode of evil spirits and of the wicked after death, usually thought of as an underworld or abyss. In Christian theology, those damned by God are sent to hell for eternity. The New Testament describes hell as a place of corruption and unquenchable fire and brimstone. Muslims have a similar hell. Buddhists and Hindus may descend into one of many hells because of evil karma, but their souls may leave hell when the effects of the karma are removed.
