Helen of Troy



Helen of Troy, in Greek mythology, most beautiful of all women. Daughter of Zeus and Leda, she was wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta, from whom the Trojan prince Paris abducted her. The Greeks, seeking to return her to Menelaus, united in a 10-year siege of Troy, finally destroying the city. With the Greeks victorious, she returned to Sparta with Menelaus.
