Heinlein, Robert Anson (1907–88), U.S. author who specialized in science fiction for both adults and children. He attended the United States Naval Academy and served 5 years in the Navy. Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land (1961) examines unconventional notions about religion, sex, and morality. His other works include Tunnel in the Sky (1955), Starship Troopers (1959), The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress (1966), and I Will Fear No Evil (1970).
