Hashish

Hashish, drug produced from a resin obtained from the top and the flowers of the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa). It is a physically nonaddictive drug whose effects range from a feeling of euphoria to distortion of perception. Hashish comes from the same plant as marijuana (which is made from the dried leaves and stalks), but contains from 5 to 8 times as much Tetrahydro-cannabinol (THC), the chemical responsible for the mind-altering effects. Hashish is mainly produced in the Middle East and India and has been in use for many centuries, although it is still illegal in many countries.
