Hare

Hare, any of various species (genus Lepus) of herbivorous mammals of the rabbit family, including the jackrabbit. Adapted for swift jumping and characterized by long ears, powerful hindlegs and feet, and short tails, hares live entirely above ground in grasslands in Eurasia, Africa, and North America. Unlike rabbits, they move by jumping instead of running. Some species molt into a white coat in winter.
