Alice Hamilton

Hamilton, Alice (1869–1970), U.S. physician and social reformer. She was the first woman on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School (1919–35) and the first researcher to study industrial diseases and industrial hygiene in the United States. Her work was instrumental in the passage of worker's compensation laws.
