Gun control

Gun control, laws aimed at governing ownership of firearms. Many states, as well as the federal government, have passed laws restricting guns, but these vary widely and have been difficult to enforce. Advocates of tighter gun control argue that stricter laws would reduce violent crime. Opponents deny that claim, and say that the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right of citizens to own guns.
