Gulf of Saint Lawrence



Gulf of Saint Lawrence, almost landlocked body of water, opening into the Atlantic Ocean in eastern Canada. Newfoundland borders the gulf on the east, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on the south, and Quebec on the west. As the outlet for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River, the gulf is the gateway to trade for the interior of North America.
