Guggenheim Museum



Guggenheim Museum, major gallery of modern art, noted above all for its building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1959, Wright's final work and his only one in New York City. The circular glass-domed structure houses major sculptures and paintings of the 19th and 20th centuries. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation promotes art education and maintains the museum, established in 1939.
