Ché Guevara



Guevara, Ché (Ernesto Guevara de la Serna; 1928–67), Argentinean-born Cuban communist revolutionary and guerrilla leader who helped organize Fidel Castro's coup in 1959. After serving as president of the Cuban national bank and minister of industry, he went to Bolivia in 1966 to direct the guerrilla movement there. He was captured by the Bolivian army and executed. In 1997, his remains were taken to Cuba.
