Grosbeak



Grosbeak, name of various finches having a strong conical bill for cracking seeds. The male of the blue grosbeak of the southern United States (Guiraca caerulea) is dark blue all over and can be mistaken for the indigo bunting. The pine grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator), native to Canada, is mainly pink. The females are drab.
