Edvard Hagerup Grieg



Grieg, Edvard Hagerup (1843–1907), Norwegian composer who based much of his work on traditional national folk music. He wrote many songs and piano pieces. His best-known orchestral works are the Piano Concerto (1869), the Peer Gynt suites (1876), and the Holberg Suite (1885).
