Germaine Greer



Greer, Germaine (1939– ), Australian-born feminist author. In The Female Eunuch (1970), she charged that society tried to force women into passive, insipid feminine roles that they should reject. Greer received a doctorate from Cambridge University and taught at the University of Warwick (1967–73). Other works include Daddy, We Hardly Knew You (1989), and The Change: Women, Ageing and the Menopause (1991).
