Graham Greene



Greene, Graham (1904–91), British novelist, best known for The Ministry of Fear (1943), Our Man in Havana (1958), and the screenplay for The Third Man (1950). His more serious work is influenced by Roman Catholicism, expressing the need for faith and the possibility of personal salvation, as in Brighton Rock (1938), The Power and the Glory (1940), and The Heart of the Matter (1948).
