Great Salt Lake Desert



Great Salt Lake Desert, part of a flat low area in northwest Utah, about 140 mi (225 km) by 80 mi (130 km), bordering Great Salt Lake to the northeast. The explorer John Frémont discovered it in 1845. The Bonneville Salt Flats occupy its west central area, and are famous for auto speed testing.
