Göteborg



Göteborg (pop. 437,500), second largest city in Sweden and its most important coastal port. Its harbor is ice-free throughout the year. It has fisheries and shipyards, and is the largest shipbuilding site in Scandinavia. It was founded by Charles IX in 1604.
