Good Neighbor Policy

Good Neighbor Policy, policy initiated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and endorsed at the seventh Pan-American conference in Montevideo (1933). The policy stated that no American nation would interfere in the internal affairs of another. Exchange programs were set up for teachers and technical experts, and the United States agreed to help develop Latin American agriculture, business, education, and health facilities.
