Gold Rush



Gold Rush, influx of prospectors following the discovery of a new gold field. From 1848–1915, in the Americas, Australia, and South Africa, there were numerous gold rushes attracting thousands of prospectors: in California (1849), Australia (1851–3), Canada and the Klondike (1897).
