Godetia



Godetia, genus of flowering annuals named after the Swiss botanist Charles H. Godet. There are about 25 different kinds of godetias grown in North America. They belong to the family Onagraceae, characterized by flowers with 4 sepals, 4 petals, and 4 or 8 stamens. The farewell-to-spring (G. Amoena) grows 12 to 30 in (30 to 76 km) high and produces white, pink, or red flowers.
