Giorgione



Giorgione (1478?–1510), Renaissance Venetian painter, student of Giovanni Bellini. Subordinating line to light and color, he achieved a unity of human figures with landscape that influenced Titian. Among his works are The Tempest (1501), Madonna and Child Enthroned (1504), and The Three Philosophers (1510).
