Furniture

Furniture, movable objects and accessories that add to the comfort, beauty, usefulness, and storage capacity of a dwelling. The development of furniture and increasing sophistication is closely allied to that of architecture. Furniture may be classified as supporting pieces (for example, chairs, tables, beds) and storage pieces (for example, chests, cupboards, and other boxlike containers). Accessories like rugs, drapes, and mirrors may also be considered furniture.
