Ragnar Frisch



Frisch, Ragnar (1895–1973), Norwegian economist. He and Jan Tinbergen of the Netherlands were the first winners of the Nobel Prize in economics (1969). Frisch won the prize for his pioneering work in econometrics, the statistical analysis of economic problems. He was professor of economics at Oslo University and a founder of the Econometric Society (1930).
