Fra Angelico

Fra Angelico (Guido di Pietro; 1400–55), Italian painter and Dominican friar. His church frescoes (Convent of San Marco, Florence) and altarpieces combined traditionally bright, clear colors with the new use of perspective settings. His Tuscan backgrounds are among the great Renaissance landscapes.
