Ugo Foscolo

Foscolo, Ugo (1778–1827), Italian author. His books include the novel, The Last Letters of Jacopo Ortis (1802) and the ode The Sepulchers (1806–07). He left Italy in 1815 and spent the rest of his life in England, writing essays and teaching Italian.
