Fort Bragg



Fort Bragg, center for U.S. Army airborne units and the Special Warfare Center, near Fayetteville, N.C. Established in 1918 and named after Confederate General Braxton Bragg, this fort covers 149,000 acres (60,000 hectares). During World War II, the U.S. Army's first 2 airborne divisions (82nd and 101st) were trained at Fort Bragg.
