Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC), U.S. Department of Agriculture agency that offers insurance to farmers. Created in 1938, the FCIC provides insurance against loss of crops from natural hazards. Through 17 regional offices, the FCIC provides insurance, at varying rates, to over half the nation's agricultural counties.
